A low-hydrogen, all-position AC electrode for welding carbon steel, high-tensile steel, low alloy steel and free- machining steels. Quiet steady arc with medium penetration using small AC welding machines. Graphite tip acts like a “match” for quick arc starting and the special low hydrogen, iron powder coating permits easy restriking of the arc over and over again. For this reason, it is commonly used for “tack welding”. Easily removable slag reveals a finely rippled bead appearance. Typical applications include structural and fabrication steels such as I-beams, angles, plates, channels, cast steels, cold rolled steel, process piping steels, shipbuilding steels.
