A 30% chromium – 4% carbon hardfacing electrode for overlaying carbon, low alloy or austenitic manganese steels in severe abrasion, moderate impact environments. Weld deposit is a tough austenite-carbide matrix with oxidation resistance up to 1800F and wear resistance up to 1200F. Excellent wear resistance in metal to metal sliding and grinding abrasion application such as in rolling mill guides. Easy to use on AC or DC machines with a wide range of amperage settings allowing for high deposition efficiency and easy slag removal. Two layers will produce extremely hard weld deposits (RC 60-62) that cannot be machined or heat-treated.
